Prescriptions
Repeat prescriptions are medications which appear on the reverse of your prescription which your doctor would like you to continue on a regular basis.
Prescriptions will be sent to your nominated pharmacy electronically so that you do not need to come into the surgery. If you do not have a nominated pharmacy, you will be contacted and asked to select a pharmacy near you.
Medication cannot be issued early or in greater quantities than on your current prescription (maximum 2 months’ supply). This will help ensure stock levels are maintained.
Where appropriate, your medications will be set up for Electronic Repeat Dispensing (eRD). This means you will be able to request and collect your regular medication from your nominated pharmacy every 1 or 2 months for up to 6 months. You will be notified by the practice or pharmacy of this change.
